Counter-Strike 1.6
Counter-Strike 1.6 (CS 1.6, CS) is a mod for half-life. It is by far the
most successful mod, with a still thriving community, with tons of maps
available for download. CS is more of a tactical shooter, with no double
jumps or super weapons, instead the weapons consist of snipers, pistols,
knife, machine gun, SMG's, and rifles.The basic gameplay of CS is
divided into several gametypes. The main gametype consists of two teams,
the terrorists and the counterterrorists. The goal of the terrorist team is
to A.plant a bomb on a pre-designated spot on the map or B. kill all of
the counterterrorists. The goal of the CT's (counterterrorists) is to either A.
kill all the T's (terrorists) or B. defuse the bomb. The second gametype also
involves 2 teams. The objective of the T's is to A. kill all CT's, or B. protect
the hostages for the allotted time. The CT's goal is to A. find and retrieve
all hostages, or B. kill all T's. There are also many communitie created game
modes, including surf, where the objective is to strafe sideways into triangle
shaped objects ("surfing") and killing all of the opposing team, fight yard,
which is a standard deathmatch, and zombie, in which several people start
out as zombies and one hit from a zombie turns you into one. the goal is for
everyone to turn into zombies, or for the humans to kill all zombies. below
is a list of my favorite maps which i feel are the best of the community.
